DESTINATION PLACE: Rovigo, Italy

Welcome to Rovigo!

This town is located in the noth-east Italy, in the region of Venezia, and it is also the province with the same name. It has good communication ways to Venice, it is 80km far from the city by train and 40km from Padua and from the Adriatic sea coast.

It hasn't got mountains and it has lots of ducts that are used to water the fields that surround the town. The most common places to visit are catholic churches and the cathedral, such as San Esteban cathedral, Corazon de Maria's church, San Pio X church and many other religious buildings.

San Esteban cathedral started as a fort in the 2th century, and became a religious place after some years. It has been reformed so many times over the years. Last rebuilding upgrade rthe main front, which has been reformed more than five times in the last 5 centuries.

If you visit Rovigo you must visit Pighin street, and la Donna, one of the tallest Italian tower from the Middle Ages. There are lots of medieval palaces too, all around the town and its sourroundings.

The most famous palaces are Roverella's palace, Roncale de Michele Sanmicheli's palace and Palacio dell'Academia dei Concordi and the gallery with the same name. There's also a Duomo dedicated to Saint Stefano papa and Mártir, which is a really interesting place to visit. It has some portraits and a few sculptures that you should visit. 

if you visit Rovigo, you must visit the natural park Delta del Po, around the river Po. This park includes nine towns, which are really beautiful and full of incredible places to visit. There are lots of italian palaces, like I said before. 

In Frata Polestine you can admire Villa Badoer, one of the most beautiful Venetian palaces, designed by palladio in the 16th century and decorated in its interior rooms with frescoes by Pierfrancesco Giallo Fiorentino.

in Polesella there are also wonderful palaces from the Renaissance period, representing the elegance and majesty typical of Venetian palaces. 

For finish this trip, you can't miss Rosolina a Mare, in the banks of the Adriatic sea, an incredible beautiful city with a long beach and a great pine forest. here you can walk, practice water sports and relax and sunbathe in the beach. An incredible place to visit!
